Where I Am Right Now

This is what a demo pit looks like... the backstage area for a microsoft show.

Oops

NEW YORK - A city street collapsed under a sport utility vehicle early Monday, leaving the vehicle nose down into a deep sinkhole that officials said was caused by a water main break.
The driver of the SUV escaped without serious injures but was taken to a hospital for treatment of shock, said Fire Department spokesman Brian Conlon.
The vehicle was barely visible from street level inside the 12-foot-wide hole, partially in a pedestrian crosswalk in Brooklyn. It was resting atop a gas main and crews had to wait for the gas to be turned off before removing it, said Ian Michaels, a spokesman for the Department of Environmental Protection.

Vegas is Nuts

So we're staying and working at the Venetian. For some reason we all have suites, so they're... well, pretty much the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in.
This is the lobby. Yeah, it's pretty nice.
Hanging out with Jen, Josh and Jerbarco on St. Paddy's Day. A Chihuly glass ceiling at the Bellagio: The Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel (1/3 to scale of the real one):
I have many more cool photos, but I better hold off, because the load time of this page for those with a dial-up connection is probably 2.7 days.

Thursday I'm off to Dallas for a week, then I get home on the 29th. I miss all the peoples from home. Be well.

Thought

It seems to me that we have killed the innocent statement. If I'm stating a simple fact that ought to be taken at face value, there is an assumption on the part of the listener that I must actually be implying something else, hinting at something other than what I have just said. Clearly I am driving at something else altogether.

But what if I just want to make a simple statement?

New Laptop

I came extremely close to buying this new whiz-bang notebook today. But then I did not. Perhaps I will sometime in the future, but I just felt that now is not the exact right time.

What did I not buy? The new Dell Inspiron e1505 notebook with the Intel Core Duo 2 gig processor, a gig of dual channel RAM, 60 gigs of 7200 rpm hard drive memory... all in a very pretty 6 lb package.
