The Many Sleeping Postures of Bandit the Office Cat

This cat is kinda cool. He basically sleeps for 7 of the 8 hours I work at Colson on a chair next to me. Then he'll spring up, meow loudly, get let outside, kill and eat a mouse or small rabbit, then come back in and fall asleep.

These were all taken yesterday.

Suds

I was extremely excited to discover last night that I finally have power at my condo. I had purposefully left the heat on, so whenever the power was restored and I came back home, it would be nice and warm. I hadn't remembered having almost every light in the place on, however.

When the power went out Thursday evening at around 9.30 pm, I had a load of laundry going. Since it's a side-loading washer, I just let the load sit out the power outage. Last night I decided to restart the load, so I put some soap in and started a cycle. I came back later to discover that the washer machine had finished, but was completely packed full of suds. So I clicked the wheel to the rinse/spin cycles and let it finish. Still full of suds. So I started an entire new cycle and let that finish. Still full of suds. This morning when I looked at it? Full of suds.

Anybody have any ideas? Why would a power outage cause my washer machine to become so stupid?

Monday Morning

So why did it take me 1.5 hours to get to work today (Bothell to Redmond)? The roads that I tried to take were pretty backed up, so I tried some back routes. They didn't quite work out. I'll let the photos that I snapped say the rest.

Random

I've discovered that my sense of humor is particularly suited for the random and spontaneous. I find off-the-wall, non-sequitur statements to be quite pleasing.

I've discovered that some people don't like random statements. Observe your internal reaction to the following sentence:

"Pudding patties are tasty for the rain people."

Depending on your personality type, you may have enjoyed that, or you may just find it a bit annoying.

Truth

"The most difficult problems are those that attack your will to solve them."

The Toymaker's Gift

Well, it's good to be finished with this project. It's been many months of work. I've heard lots of positive feedback, which is great. It was hard to know exactly how it was going to go over with the people... it's like that when your nose is so close to a project. It could either be a hit, or people might not really enjoy it, who's to say?

But now I'm tired. Deeply tired. I wonder why I'm so tired. Am I a bit depressed? Maybe a little. I find myself not wanting to be around people very much. My goal in life for today, Monday, December 11, 2006, is to get to bed at a decent hour, get some rest and get "normalized" (if there is such a thing).
